Hello, I’m Aybige Arık. Nice to meet you! Introducing myself within the framework of my academic background, I completed my bachelor’s degree with honors in the English Language Teaching department at Gaziantep University, ranking first in the department and faculty. In the final year of my undergraduate studies, I conducted my first research with a TÜBİTAK scholarship, and had the opportunity to share my findings at the 2022 METU ELT Convention. Currently, I am continuing my academic studies in Language Education at Gaziantep University’s graduate program.
As an educator, I prefer a student-centered and eclectic approach. I believe that no single method or approach can be sufficient for individuals as complex as humans, especially in the context of language acquisition. In terms of my personality, I can briefly say that my lifelong goal is to remain a student and never give up on being a student, which has made me both a up-to-date and attentive individual.
Additionally, I have a professional interest in culinary arts and enjoy participating in related training programs.
If I were to share a quote that has positively influenced my life, it would undoubtedly be the words originally attributed to Friedrich Nietzsche and later popularized by Viktor E. Frankl in his book “Man’s Search for Meaning”: “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” I like to integrate this quote into every aspect of my life, as it suggests that having a “why” for our actions enables us to cope with any “how.”
